There is little doubt that the play is funny - razor sharp is the term for New York wit - especially when they talk of Hollywood because New Yorkers love truisms. If you like seeing men cuddling don't miss the first half. This sort of thing is very popular on stage. Someone said "the theatre is life - the telly is furniture". So there's lots of life in this play and the people who go to it certainly have a good laugh - except the remarkably few who are not partial to 'da boy boy thang'.
A fine performance especially Maggie the agent.

Story

Mitchell, a rising Hollywood actor hires a male prostitute with whom he falls in love. His love is returned so all should be well. His agent Diane however is far from impressed because the next part she has planned for him is a story of male lovers and she believes that he has to be a straight in real life to make his career credible to his female audience. He's a good looker and women know by now that they stand no chance with men who love men.

Diane is Mitch's special friend - a personal agent as it were - so it gets complicated because he finds it hard to pretend he loves Diane when he realises that he is properly gay..

Alex, the prostitute has a girlfriend called Eileen so the debacle continues as she suggests solutions. Normally the women would bow to the greater force and act accordingly but in this case they are all smitten with the fame game and want to see the plot through. It's Hollywood after all. This sort of thing would never happen in Penge.
